Women's : Women Business Book Hits #1 On Amazon Best-Seller List
|
| on 2010/6/29 13:20:00 (97 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- Marcia Reynolds, author of Outsmart Your Brain, reaches top ranks with her now best-selling book, Wander Woman: How High-Achieving Women Find Contentment and Direction (Berrett-Koehler Publishers, June 2010, paperback). Marcia Reynolds, Psy.D., takes her book to #1 in the category of women and business and sub-category management and leadership. Her book is based on her solid research and a wealth of clinical and personal experience to identify an emerging identity among high-achieving women. Wander Woman: How High-Achieving Women Find Contentment and Direction by Marcia Reynolds, PsyD is the first personal development book focused on the needs and desires of high-achieving women as opposed to the general population of women. These women do not need assertiveness skills, do not want to focus on their fears and will probably not balance their lives. They need a book that will address their specific challenges.
Based on the Dr. Reynold's doctorial research and decades of coaching smart, strong women, Wander Woman identified a growing number of women who are constantly searching for “something more” in their lives. Although these women are confident in their abilities and continue to stack up the accomplishments, at the end of the day they are discontented, disappointed and exhausted. First, Reynolds defines the societal factors that led to the drive and restlessness these women experience. Then she defines the dark side of women raised to excel—in their constant search for the next great thing, they lose a sense of who they are and what their purpose is beyond their accomplishments and praise. Once the reader can clearly identify her challenges, the bulk of the chapters in Wander Woman provide practical exercises, powerful questions and case studies to help the reader channel her restless energy into a more fulfilling path. In the end, the reader will release her “burden of greatness” and be free to choose her own life rules and direction.

(SkyNewswire.com) --- Since 2008, the number of breast enlargement patients aged 45 and over at Transform, the UK's largest cosmetic surgery group has doubled. Transform has experienced a large spike in the number of mature women undergoing body enhancement procedures such as buttock implants and breast enlargements. This trend is now being referred to as the 'Cougar Lift'. Statistics released by Transform have revealed that one in five patients undergoing breast enhancement procedures are now women over the age of 45.
In recent years, Transform's surgeons have seen a new demand for 'filling out' various body parts that have started to sag. The cosmetic surgery leader named buttock implants, facial dermal fillers and breast augmentations as its most popular treatments for cougars. Women over the age of 45 now make up 20% of Transform's breast augmentation patients (already used this figure). This is double 2008 numbers. Women's : Prudential Reports Over a Third of Women Face Retirement Poverty
|
| on 2010/6/24 11:20:00 (121 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- Prudential has revealed new research that shows more than a third of women (35 per cent) planning to retire in 2010 will receive an income which is below the poverty line* - GBP14,000 a year or less - according to the latest findings** from Prudential's Class of 2010 retirement survey. By comparison 29 per cent of men will face their retirement on an income of less than GBP14,000 a year. The gender gap becomes even starker over the age of 65 where 42 per cent of women over 65 will have incomes below the poverty line compared with 33 per cent of men. According to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, a single person in Britain needs to earn at least GBP13,900 a year before tax** in order to afford a basic, but acceptable standard of living.
Overall nearly a third (32 per cent) of people planning to retire in 2010 will have an income that falls below the poverty line. Prudential's research has also found that women's mean expected retirement income is GBP12,169 a year, or 12 per cent below the GBP13,900 stated by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, while men expect to receive a mean income of GBP19,593, or 41 per cent above the poverty line. The findings reinforce the need for women to take pension savings and retirement planning matters into their own hands, according to Vince Smith-Hughes, Prudential's head of business development for pensions. He said: "Women are more likely to take a career break when they start a family and possibly the last thing on your mind when you're taking care of children and the home is how you're going to fund your retirement years. But as these figures clearly demonstrate those years out of work do have an impact."

Women's : TTC Success Stories Over Age 40 By Diana Farrell
|
| on 2010/6/23 19:00:00 (158 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- Is it really possible to conceive over age 40? Well, you never know until you try. Women are generally discouraged from getting pregnant as they approach their 40s, not only because of fertility problems, but because the risk of chromosomal abnormalities is far higher. But don't let these statistics discourage you from trying. Women very often successfully given birth to healthy babies in their 40s despite having diminished ovarian reserves and other fertility problems! TTC is just another way of saying "trying to conceive" that we use often in our blogs and fertility forums. These TTC success stories show how three women finally conceived at an age where many moms send their kids off to college.
Sheila's story of victory through IVF Sheila's son was born shortly after she turned 40. Her baby was the miracle of IVF, which she finally decided to try after three years of fertility tests and treatments, which included 8 IUI cycles. Sheila's story is a rather interesting one - her baby is her only other family member besides her elderly mother. She never married and did not want to wait for the right man to come along before starting her own family. So with her mother's support, Sheila took matters into her own hands. She obtained sperm from a sperm bank and did a few IUI cycles, none of which worked. Frustrated, Sheila agreed to do a full battery of fertility tests, but the doctors found nothing wrong. So she agreed to do more IUI cycles until she made the big decision to get an IVF. While Sheila feels truly blessed to have a child of her own, her greatest desire is to give her son a sister or brother to play with. She's not sure if the next attempt will be as successful as the last, but she's willing to give IVF one more try.

Women's : Handmade Leather Belts For Women By Joseph Paul Caparas
|
| on 2010/6/23 11:40:00 (174 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- A belt is a must-have accessory for every woman. It is functional yet aesthetically appealing. It lets you wear loose-fitted pants while looking posh at the same time. But pants are not the only clothes you can wear with a belt. You can also wear a belt on dress, skirt, or a pair of shorts. You can even wear it over formal attire. Moreover, a belt will instantly revamp your plain, boring outfit. So, don't go anywhere without wearing one! Anyway, there are a lot of belts you can find in stores. Be careful, though, because not all machine-made belts are durable. Handmade belts made of handmade leather are way better.
First of all, first-class handmade belts come from native cowhide English bridle leather. Usually, handmade leather that comes from the United States is excellent in quality. This handmade leather underwent a hot stuffing procedure that drives a natural combination of wax, grease, and oil deep into the hide fibers. In addition, handmade belts are meticulously done by skilled artisans who handle handmade leather carefully. This is why each belt is a work of art. Every belt has a story behind it. You can also say that handmade belts are the results of hard work and patience. They are really durable and long-lasting. Moreover, when you buy handmade belts, you support the livelihood of artisans. These simple people devote a huge fraction of their time cutting handmade leather with the use of hand-operated equipments alone. They also pay attention to every little detail. Just imagine how laborious their tasks are. Handmade belts are not easily done. Then, you also help conserve the environment whenever you purchase handmade belts. Factories that produce artificial belts emit toxic substances which are harmful to humans, plants, and animals. Also, with handmade leather, you can be fairly sure that the animal it came from was treated humanely.

Women's : Large Size Lingerie - The Choice to Be Sexy No Matter What By Christine A Shoemark
|
| on 2010/6/22 13:40:00 (118 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- If you are a bigger woman, there are some people who think that you should only wear frumpy clothing, that you should hide yourself as much as possible. In the past, lingerie makers must have agreed with that assessment too, because they often made certain sizes of lingerie in only boring colors with absolutely no flair or style at all. Thankfully, now plus size lingerie is available in every item that you can think of and in every style and color as well. You can wear red hot Momma lingerie, demure, flirty or even brazen and bold large size lingerie, no matter what you want.
Ladies, there is no reason whatsoever for you not to have great and sexy large size lingerie. You can't say that they don't make it, or you can't find it. It's available on the web, in catalogs and occasionally in the shops that really want to have your business. Think of this: the average size has changed dramatically in recent years with many women needing larger bras, panties and even shoes now more than ever before. If the manufacturers did not start offering large size lingerie, they would be missing out on a major part of their business.

| on 2010/6/14 7:00:00 (114 reads) |
(SkyNewswire.com) --- For any women who are over the age of 65 and concerned with the state of their memory, they can receive complete benefits by drinking roughly 3 cups of coffee on a daily basis. Experts are recommending drinking caffeine in moderation, which has been proven to promote mental health and wellness in women.
When caffeine is enjoyed in moderation, it can actually provide a benefit for women's health, especially related to their memory. A recent report from the American Academy of Neurology's medical journal in August 2007 showed that a study was conducted through the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research, which exposed how caffeine related to both women's and men's health. This study that was done including more than 7000 people that were over the age of 65, and it took into account different variables, such as how much coffee or tea they regularly consumed, as well as their medical histories. The participants within the study began by taking a series of tests to determine their mental health, much of which were focused on their memory. From there, the tests were repeated after two years and four years progressed within the study. The women who continued to drink roughly 3 cups of caffeinated coffee each day showed a lesser reduction in their overall test scores than women who simply drank one cup of Joe per day.
