(SkyNewswire.com)--- Los Angeles broadcaster Manny Pacheco has a newly published book entitled "Forgotten Hollywood Forgotten History", which highlights the fine supporting actors of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Pacheco’s collection of stories includes written treasures that will enhance anyone’s appreciation of classic cinema. Among the actors focused upon include: Claude Rains, Walter Brennan, Ward Bond, and Basil Rathbone. American history comes alive with this fresh new take.

Pacheco has established a local book tour with upcoming stops at Borders in Yorba Linda on February 20th at 1p; Chevalier's in Los Angeles on April 18th at 1p; and the Author's Fair at the El Segundo Public Library on June 6th at 12:30p. In addition, the author is already planning stops in Seattle, Portland, and Northern California. The highlight of his book signings will take place during the Turner Classic Movies Film Festival. The historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (at the Thompson Xchange Gift Shop) has asked the author to do in-house book signings during the entire run of the first-annual national motion picture fest.

The National Best Books 2009 Awards, sponsored by USA Book News has just announced their latest winners of national authored works from the largest entry field in its six-year history. "Forgotten Hollywood Forgotten History" won in the History: Media/Entertainment category.

Additionally, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills accepted the submission of "Forgotten Hollywood Forgotten History" to their Margaret Herrick Library. The author’s book was deemed “culturally significant” with respect to the history of Hollywood's studio era by its inclusion in this fine library. An author's work is given a thorough review before The Academy makes valued selections to their prestigious shelves.

Pacheco is a 28-year member of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and has worked in television and radio in Southern California for three decades. He has appeared on NBC’s Santa Barbara, and the Daytime Emmy-nominated, In Studio on KCOP.

The book is available for sale in the gift shops at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and The Paley Center For Media in Beverly Hills; and at Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble, and selected Costco locations (in Burbank and Los Feliz).
